The challenge
Venora Technologies is an MEP contractor — electrical wiring, power and control panels, mechanical systems and HVAC — and it also sells hand tools and power tools. Those are two different businesses talking to two different buyers. A procurement manager assessing whether a firm can wire an industrial building needs evidence of capability; someone buying a drill needs a cart and a checkout. Most contractor sites pick one and bolt the other on badly, and the usual result is a brochure site with an orphaned shop nobody trusts.
The approach
I built one site that carries both without either one undercutting the other. The engineering side leads: services, capability and completed work sit above anything transactional, so the first impression is a contractor rather than a retailer. The WooCommerce catalogue lives behind its own Shop entry with wishlist, compare and account flows intact, so the buying journey is complete for anyone who wants it and invisible to anyone who does not. Built on WordPress and Elementor, so the team can publish new services, products and technical posts without a developer — the blog already runs pieces like a guide to power factor, which is exactly the kind of content that earns trust with an engineering audience.
What changed
- 01Engineering credentials and a WooCommerce catalogue on one site without either diluting the other
- 02Full commerce flow — cart, wishlist, compare and customer accounts — kept behind its own entry point
- 03Service pages, product categories and a technical blog all client-editable
- 04LiteSpeed caching configured for a media-heavy industrial site
- 05Google Site Kit wired in so the client can see search and traffic data directly in WordPress
