The challenge

Ness is a global data and software engineering firm — twenty-five years old, a KKR portfolio company, with Michelin, Porsche, Universal Music Group and Woolworths among its clients. Their team had completed a full redesign in Figma and needed it built. The hard part of a site this size is never a single page: it is that a global marketing team has to keep producing pages across seven service lines and seven industries long after the developer has gone. Hand them a theme full of one-off templates and every new page becomes a support ticket.

The approach

I built the front end and the back end, and rather than templating pages one at a time I put the design system itself into the editor as a custom block plugin — ness-blocks-v2, written for this site alone. Each section of the Figma design became its own block: the banner, the capabilities grid, industry solutions, the stats and case-study module, strategic partnerships, dynamic insights, the testimonials slider, the icon grid, the header and the footer. The marketing team now composes pages from the same components the design was drawn in, so what they publish cannot drift from the system — and none of it needs me. The interactive blocks ship their own view scripts, with Swiper driving the sliders.

What changed

  • 01Twelve purpose-built Gutenberg blocks on the homepage alone, each mapped to a section of the approved design
  • 02Marketing team composes and publishes new pages unaided, with no developer in the loop
  • 03Published pages cannot drift from the design system, because the system is the editor
  • 04Interactive modules — sliders, dynamic insights, stats — ship as self-contained blocks
  • 05Delivered through the agency TripleDart for an enterprise client with a global content team
